Directions to Lake of the Torches
Hello My Friends,
As the country pushes its leaders to address the economic freefall, availability of affordable health care, and clean and renewable energy sources, we, too, must forge ahead in addressing those very same topics. And we’ll do just that at the second Governor’s Northern Wisconsin Economic Development Summit, November 17-18 at Lake of the Torches in Lac du Flambeau.
These are urgent issues for us all. To the above list add access to communications technology, workforce development, and the containment of invasive species that threaten our natural resources. Surely one of those is a hot button for you in your work.
Governor Doyle will be speaking to the gathering, as will your new Wisconsin Brand Manager, Sarah Klavas. We’ve also invited an economist to address the group.
If you attended last year, I hope this event is already on your calendar. And if you were unable to make it, this is a fresh start to be part of some incredibly important round-table discussions.
This is your summit and your chance to influence the future of the Northwoods. It is such important work and I’d be so pleased to see you there.
